From now, people with upper limb disabilities can use the smartphone

This Project suggests the use of DOWELL, a dwell-time-based smartphone control solution, for people with upper limb disabilities who are unable to interact with an interface. DOWELL is an application for smartphones that uses existing computer assistance devices and does not require additional assistance devices for smartphones.

It is not just Dwell Click System for smartphone

use through existing computer assistance devices

You can easily use DOWELL program by connecting existing computer assistance devices with USB OTG cable.

Utilizing Edges - Guardrail UI

By placing the buttons on each of the four edges, the Guardrail UI allows the cursor to move along the edges, which helps the users accurately choose buttons.

Various Gestures for smartphone

In a smartphone environment, various gestures are necessary. DOWELL supports eight total gestures: tap, long tap, scroll, swipe, zoom-in, zoom-out, and drag and drop.



  • How to use DOWELL

    1. Install DOWELL LAUNCHER
    2. Buy the USB-OTG cable which is available for under $3
    3. Connect the smartphone to an USB-type computer assistance device using the USB-OTG cable
    4. Activate DOWELL LAUNCHER and use smartphone freely!
